Studio Accomplishments



Megan Baldwin (junior) was a counselor for the 2012 Tennessee Governor's School for the Arts.

Sarah Schneider Busman (2007 Grad) is the flute professor at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke as well as the principal flutist of the Fayetteville Symphony Orchestra.  She holds a MM in performance from the Peabody Conservatory.

Abi
Coffer (2010 Grad) was a winner in the 2012 NFA Young Artist Competition in Las Vegas!  She also won Best Performance of a Newly Commissioned Work.  She holds a MM in performance from UNI.

Jennifer Davis (2011 Grad.) was selected to study a second year at The Studio with Trevor Wye in England and the proud owner of a new Altus 1808!  She was also selected as a performer at the following summer (2012) classes: Wildacres, the Baylor Flute Seminar and Aria.

Roya Farzaneh (2012 Grad) was a camp counselor for the 2012 Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp.  She will be a graduate assistant attending the University of Akron in Ohio studying with George Pope.
  Roya was the 1st place winner of the 2012 Collegiate division of Bachfest as well as a selected performer in the 2011 Wildacres Flute Retreat in Little Switzerland, NC and attended the National Flute Association Convention in Charlotte, NC.

Jessy Fine (2012 Grad) is the band director at Cedar Bluff Middle School in Knoxville, TN.  While a student at MTSU, Jessy was a Student Ambassador, former section leader in the Band of Blue, and a member of Delta Omicron International Music Fraternity (former first and second Vice President).  She represents MTSU as an “I’m One” speaker at recruitment trips for the university.

Megan Glosson (2010 Grad) is the band/music director at Lincoln County Schools.

Aleesha Hillis (senior) was selected this past summer to attend The Art of Wind Band Teaching at the University of Minnesota where she studied conducting.

Katie Howard (2008 Grad) is the principal flutist in the Topeka Symphony.  She is also pursuing an Artist's Certificate from the University of Missouri - Kansas City where she is the recipient of a fellowship and a performer in the resident woodwind quintet.

Melissa Keeling (2012 MA Grad)  is pursuing a DMA at CUNY studying with Robert Dick.  She was chosen as a performer for the 2012 NFA Convention in Las Vegas.   Melissa has composed and recorded a solo for electronic flute entitled Illuminati Breakdown!  Find her electronic flute and guitar duo CD "sanik" on iTunes!


Mara Miller (senior) was a camp counselor for the 2012 Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp.  She was also selected as a performer this past summer for the Baylor Flute Seminar.  She has also conducted at the MTSU "Floot" Camp, performed in Goran Marcusson's masterclass at the 2011 Wildacres Flute Retreat in Little Switzerland, NC and attended the National Flute Association Convention in Charlotte, NC.

Maureen Moeller (senior) was selected to perform in Costa Rica and Panama with the MTSU Wind Ensemble Central America Tour and attended the National Flute Association Convention in Charlotte, NC.

Shannon Moore (junior) attended the 2011 and 2012 Sewanee Summer Music Festival and was selected this past summer as principal flutist on Ravel's - Daphnis & Chloe.    Shannon published an article for the September 2011 issue of Flute Talk.  She was also selected to perform in Costa Rica and Panama with the MTSU Wind Ensemble and attended the National Flute Association Convention in Charlotte, NC.

Kallie Rogers (2012 MA Grad) is pursuing a DMA at the Florida State University studying with Eva Amsler. She was chosen as a performer as well as a presenter at the 2012 NFA Convention in Las Vegas.  In 2011 Kallie toured Germany, Holland, and France as a staff member for the Blue Lake International Southern Winds. She also attended the National Flute Association Convention in Charlotte, NC.

Chelsea Short (senior) was a member of a select group of MTSU music students chosen to travel to China where she worked with young flutists and musicians teaching private lessons and master classes.

ChristenVann  graduated from MTSU in December of 2012 and is currently teaching 4th grade at Smyrna Elementary.  Christen was selected to perform in Costa Rica and Panama with the MTSU Wind Ensemble Central America Tour.

Anna Laura Williams attended the 2011 Trevor Wye Boston Masterclass.
