Scholarships and Financial Aid
For detailed information on applying and auditioning at MTSU, please visit the MTSU Music Admissions page.
MTSU School of Music offers attractive scholarship packages which are available to all qualified music majors and minors.
Scholarships are also available for talented students who wish to participate in ensembles, as well as for non-majors.
The MTSU Music program prides itself on quality personal interaction between teacher and student. We plan 2-3 Scholarship audition days each year. The playing portion of an audition will last around 10-15 minutes. Other events are scheduled throughout the day to inform students and parents about MTSU's music program. Our pre-set scholarship audition days are preferred because they provide a chance for the MTSU faculty members to meet the student which will give the student a better idea of the teacher(s) with whom he/she will work with as well as a chance to view the university facilities.
However, we also offer pre-recorded auditions or in person. private auditions outside the allotted audition days, for this option email the teacher directly. ([email protected])
ALL STUDENTS, major or minors, must audition for acceptance into the MTSU School of Music and for scholarship award considerations.
All non-majors, who are interested in scholarships for participation in ensembles at MTSU, are also required to audition.
The offering of the MTSU School of Music scholarship awards usually begin around March 1 and will continue until all funds have been allocated.
To set up an audition or for further information on application procedures, scholarships, or auditions, visit the MTSU School of Music site or contact the music office at 615.898.2469.
